The world starts feeling too small, lately.
May I suggest using an equally wide black line around the whole character? (Mostly chin, some hair, shoulder)
Maybe the black mouth line could be smoother too.

Anyway, I like the design! This game is gonna rock.

:giggle: I just used his pencils instead inking a new, and you are right some stuff I should redo. Thanks for the feedback :D

oh btw would you prefer to have no black lines inside and a bold line outside ? I pondered about that anyway yesterday

Guten Tag, Tim...

My final answer is: How can I tell? Keep in mind I've never seen the pic coloured but without the bold lines on the inside. =p
If you ask me an opinion, I'd try to see how "he" looks against the intended background.
Of course it depends on the effect you want to achieve (have the charachters spot out or not).

Try both and choose the version that better fits the style you'd like Märchen to be (I say "you" but, since the charachters are going to be rendered by different artists, it should be "whoever the lead designer is").

Maybe you could try coloring lines in PS (I saw that on a colouring tutorial by :iconOmarDogan:).

If you're asking for opinions, I like the bold lines but there are some lines that look good in the BW sketch but not so much on the colored piece, e.g. I've never seen beards made of huge lines in real people. XD

I hope I was of some help.
Keep keeping BWS's Märchen alive!

Guten Tag Edward :)

XD yes I am gathering opinions, to open up my perspective on things. I am currently cleaning it up, cant udnerstand why I was uploading it already now XD Thanks very much on the hint, I was already frustrated with my own pencilwork and its inking (from the good to the worst haha).

Actually I am doing all renderings since I wasnt satisfied with the results up till now ^^'''' i want it... to fit the quality of johns music basically :)

Sure it was ^^
We do ^^ cheers !

I guess it's really hard to get the Really Awesome Artists (RAA from now on) working free for a project like BWS's.
You should be really happy that Talented Enough Artists (TEA from now on) are working on it and let me tell you I like your colors. It may be not that professional or not as good as John's music (that would be hard, he's damn good at it) but its good enough to be featured on a great game. (Actually, pop-up dialogues with character icons are the best since they can use static pics.)
All this to say the results are satisfying but never admit it or you may stop improving From Now On (FNO FNO).

Another idea I had, try working on huge res, things will look smoother. It's a trick I learned from :iconjanaschi:, a RAA. Again, I'm not able to work huge either ^^'

Y____Y catch me on a day I am really satisfied an d you catch me probably deaf. I think its a bit difficult to compare music with visual art, but seen from level of professionality, this is right, I guess I am more of a painter and conceptual artist then typical comic artist .. I also think of doing some simply cell shades to have a more clean result, just ch ecking it with the BG Style if its fitting anyway. Yeah Janaschi is really pro , no doubt. Gaah gues I will start inking n colourizing that anew. Lets see. anyway I appreciate the feedback :)

P: I'd rather want to have her in my own company with loads of other nerds as my pawns and friends. Thats actually my big dream. have hundreds of assistants doing all the annoying job for me while I just spawn entertaining evil hentai games with an unusual deep story on this world. :pokejark: aaahhh how sweet would that be..
